Svein Dyrkolbotn, is the Managing Member of Viking Construction. He was born in Bergen, Norway and is married to Heather, a North Carolina Tarheel. They have two daughters: AnnaBeth and Bella.

Svein played basketball on the Norwegian National Team and moved to Gainesville in 1990 as an exchange student. He was a forward for the Oak Hall basketball team and received a scholarship to play for the Florida Gators. Svein majored in Civil Engineering while attending UF and was the recipient of several scholar athlete awards.

After college he began working for Davis and Sons Construction, first as an Assistant Superintendent of multifamily projects and then as a Superintendent. He then moved up into a Project Manager role and finally became a partial owner of the company. Svein branched off to start Viking Construction Company of Florida, LLC in 2004. He also manages the development side of Viking, SHD Development, which facilitates investments in Viking's projects. Additionally, Svein also manages SHD Management which is the management company affiliated with Viking Construction.
